Newman’s Own Foundation

Mirabel was a thrilled recipient of a generous donation from the Newman’s Own Foundation which will be used to purchase a much needed vehicle and help fund several camps and trips away for the children.  Multi award winning chef, Adam D’Sylva nominated Mirabel to receive the grant as part of the Paul Newman’s Own 10 Chefs x 10 Charities campaign.

Paul Newman was committed to helping make the world a better place. To carry on his philanthropic legacy, Newman’s Own Foundation turns all net profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own products into charitable donations.

“Like Paul Newman, I believe that food and giving are naturally bound together – food makes us feel good and nourishes us from childhood,” said D’Sylva. “Children also need a lot of emotional nourishment which is why I support the Mirabel Foundation which helps the children of drug addicted parents to restore their sense of self-worth and reach their full potential.”

Mirabel CEO, Jane Rowe, said along with the purchase of the vehicle, the funding will go towards their Recreation Program which takes groups of disadvantaged children on various activities and camps, providing them with opportunities and experiences they may otherwise be denied. “Bringing children together from similar circumstances helps them build supportive peer networks with one another, lessening their feelings of isolation and providing positive childhood memories,” said Rowe. “With the number of children referred to Mirabel increasing weekly, this incredible donation from Newman’s Own ensures that we can continue to offer every child the experience and joy of childhood activities.”
