Softies For Mirabel 2011

For five years Softies For Mirabel has inspired crafters from all over the world to make soft toys for the Mirabel children. The 2011 campaign was promoted in Vogue Japan,  New Idea magazine and numerous craft blogs. Mirabel would like to thank everyone who shared their creative talent to make 500 Softies for the Mirabel children.

Newman’s Own Foundation

Mirabel was a thrilled recipient of a generous donation from the Newman’s Own Foundation which will be used to purchase a much needed vehicle and help fund several camps and trips away for the children. Multi award winning chef, Adam D’Sylva nominated Mirabel to receive the grant as part of the Paul Newman’s Own 10 Chefs x 10 Charities campaign.

Mirabel Ladies Lunch - Sydney

The Ivy in Sydney was the perfect venue for our NSW Ladies Lunch in December.

Financial Review Corporate Cycling Challenge

The Financial Review Corporate Cycling Challenge is the first cycling event of its kind to be held in Australia, offering corporate teams the chance to compete with and against Australia's Tour de France stars and other elite sporting talent. Held at Eastern Park in Geelong on Sunday 4 December 2011, Mirabel would like to thank Corporate Cycling Challenge and all involved for supporting the work we do with disadvtanged children.

Give in Style

The concept is elegantly simple. Current, stylish new and pre-loved fashion pieces, sourced and put together in a carefully edited collection by the Give In Style committee, are sold with 100% of proceeds going to the Mirabel Foundation.

Keeping it local with Grill'd Local Matters in Windsor

Thanks to Grill’d Windsor for showing us that Local charities really do Matter. Help make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children by putting a token in Mirabel’s jar this month at Grill’d Windsor.

One Night In Emerald City

An unlikely cast of Australian identities and celebrities-turned-actors, including Mikey Robins (Good News Week), will battle for ego supremacy without a safety net for a one-off charity performance in an adaptation of David Williamson’s hit play, Emerald City at The C.U.B Malthouse on 1st June 2011.

Music, Mirth and Mayhem 13

This year was Mirabel’s 13th Music, Mirth & Mayhem benefit concert, generously supported by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.   

Emma Magenta - Drawings to raise funds for Mirabel

Emma Magenta, the very talented artist who created the Mirabel Collection logo,  was at Magnolia Square Sydney, on Sunday February 27th from 12-2pm discussing her new animated series The Gradual Demise of Phillipa Finch and doing live illustrations. Emma has generously donated the money raised from her 30 second drawings to Mirabel. 

Mirabel in the Media

The child is central to Mirabel's work and we build all of our programs and services around the needs of the child, their kinship carers, their environment and their community. Over the past 12 years Mirabel's activities with the children and our supporter base have been documented in the media by academics, journalists, community groups and individual supporters.  As of 2011, Mirabel would like to share these stories on our new website page 'Mirabel in the Media' where visitors can read articles, watch videos and link to websites that examine and discuss Mirabel's work.

Shane Jacobson's Race Day for Mirabel

Shane Jacobson, a Patron of Mirabel,  recently fulfilled a commitment to take a Mirabel supporter out for a day of thrills at Calder Park Raceway.

Christmas Gifts from the Victorian Parliamentary Coalition

Thank you to the Victorian Parliamentary Coalition for donating gifts at Christmas to the Mirabel Children. For the fourth year a group of Mirabel children and their Kinship Carers met with members of the Coalition to share the festive spirit.
